Dungannon Swifts secured their first win of the 2026-27 Irish Premiership season with a 1-0 victory over Portadown at Shamrock Park on Saturday 15 August. The only goal came in the 14th minute from Kris Lowe, who fired a high shot from five yards after a quick sequence of passes.

The match began with a sharp move from Aaron McCarey, who passed the ball to Jamie Glackin. Glackin then delivered a precise ball to Sean McAllister, who in turn set up Lowe. Lowe struck the ball into the top corner, leaving Portadown goalkeeper Aaron Carey with no chance.

Portadown had been searching for their first win of the season after opening-game defeats, but the Swifts’ early goal put the pressure on the hosts. Dungannon’s defence held firm, preventing any response from Portadown and securing the victory.

The win is a positive start for Dungannon Swifts as they look to build momentum in the league. The club’s early season form will be closely watched by supporters and analysts alike.
